Peng Yi, doctor of glass art from the University of Sunderland, UK, was invited to give lectures at Jingdezhen Ceramic University. On the afternoon of October 12, Peng Yi, doctor of glass art from the University of Sunderland, UK and teacher of Tianjin Academy of fine arts, was invited to give a lecture entitled "Contemporary lamp glass art" at Xianghu campus of Jingdezhen Ceramic University. The director of the graduate school and more than 200 doctoral and master students listened to the lecture

at the lecture, Peng Yi, in combination with her overseas study experience, focused on the production process of lamp glass, introduced the works of well-known lamp glass artists at home and abroad, as well as the creation process of her personal representative works

Peng Yi said that as a kind of glass process, lamp glass is a process of shaping glass tubes or glass rods with different tools after heating them on the flame of the spray gun. At present, some foreign lamp glass artists, such as Paul and Kari, have made new breakthroughs in the processing of lamp glass by making small elements in the glass or by combining blowing with fire gun. Italian artist Cesare toffrolo made many small figures with glass rods. In her work home, American artist crrie feitig uses glass to make many feathers that are more than one meter long and suspended in the air. This is mansons S. (Manson) and offering F. (coffin), on the basis of a large number of experiments, put forward the Anson coffin equation to express the relationship between plastic strain and fatigue life, which defines the low cycle fatigue and lays a solid foundation for further research. These foundations are the embodiment of the unique Western culture. In her opinion, although China's lamp glass technology began to develop from the Qing Dynasty, and changed from the initial Street production to the concentration of artists to set up factories in the late Republic of China, the development was slow, but it still gave birth to Chinese local glass art masters such as Xing Lanxiang, Wang naibao and sunfengjun, who have well inherited China's modern lamp glass technology

Peng Yi said that she has been exploring the possibility of eastern and Western culture reflected in lamp glass art. In the work abacus keyboard, she made the shape of the keyboard, and printed letters on each abacus bead with silk printing, making each abacus bead look like a key on the key plate, which reflects that modern life replaces traditional life elements. In deconstruction, she cut and reorganized the common snuff bottle in the Chinese market, symbolizing the loss and return of culture. In addition, she has also created a series of works by combining the waste containers of Beijing Liyuan stockyard with IKEA glass cups, symbolizing the collision between industrial production and ancient culture. Peng Yi believes that lamp glass art is a cross-cultural existence. She hopes to creatively apply lamp glass to contemporary glass art under the influence of eastern and Western cultural backgrounds

then, she introduced the lighting glass clothing show held by the Tianyuan glass art museum in 2016, showing the teachers and students clothing shows with three themes of ancient glass, Hebei Huailai local glass, ice and snow and glass, especially the rapid development trend of economic development, and had an interactive exchange with the on-site audience on how to combine glass and ceramic, and the creative concept of lighting glass art

it is understood that Peng Yi is a contemporary glass artist and a doctor of glass art from the University of Sunderland in the UK. She mainly studies the combination and re creation of traditional lighting glass and modern lighting technology. She has participated in glass art exhibitions at home and abroad for many times. Her works have been selected into the British Glass Art Biennale and the international northern printing Biennale twice. Her works "growth" series have been collected by the German Alexander foundation
